Should I use a ride share service like Uber or Lyft or a car service?  What's the difference?

It's a question we get asked a lot.  While ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft are cheap and convenient, you do get what you pay for in the end.  Unlike a car service, Uber and Lyft have little to no quality control. They have no way of keeping up with vehicle maintenance, your ride vehicle may be dirty, damaged or even worse: about to break down due to lack of service. Ride share drivers do not make much money and they put a lot of miles on their vehicles. After paying for expenses such as gas and insurance, there is not a lot left over for vehicle maintenance as they struggle to pay rent and put food on their table.

Personal safety is also a huge concern. Uber and Lyft are software companies, and they do not KNOW their drivers. Each and every month produces another unfortunate, tragic, yet avoidable headline of a rider being victimized by an Uber or Lyft driver. We used to warn our children: "Do not take rides from strangers", now that has become a company slogan.

We at Land's End Limo keep all of our vehicles serviced with maintenance records, are well insured and we do extensive background checks on all of our drivers. We place your safety and well being as paramount and provide you a safe and courteous service.
